SONORA — November 2, 2026. The City of Sonora issued a public works solicitation dated August 7 for reconstruction of two municipal parking lots at Stewart and Lyons streets and Stewart and Church streets.
Two separate city facilities
The request identifies existing lots that need pavement reconstruction and related improvements. For the Stewart and Church location, the city documents a proposed total of 15 parking stalls, including one accessible space.
The bid deadline has passed
The city’s notice set an August 28, 2026 bid deadline. Because that date has passed, the solicitation itself cannot establish that a contractor was awarded a project, construction has started or any parking space is currently closed.
Where motorists should check
Drivers visiting downtown should look for active city traffic notices and posted temporary no-parking signs. Contractors interested in a new opportunity must check the city’s updated procurement page rather than submit a late bid to an expired solicitation.
